Eight of My Best Images
I feel proud of this photo because I put a lot of effort into this. First it was actually taking the photo. I wanted to make this a powerful photo so we did a lot of experimenting with the lights. Finally, once the lighting was right we could actually take the photo. I took several different shots of this and while editing I chose this particular one because the lighting was better than the other ones. Then I had to edit it. It took two and a half classes to edit this properly. I experimented with different curves and effects on Photoshop. I asked for peer feedback and continued to edit. I spent a lot of time using the burn tool on Photoshop to blend in the black just right. In the end my work paid off. I was very happy with the way this picture turned out and I printed it as well.
This is probably my most favorite picture I took and edited in photography so far. I like this picture because of the candle light illuminating the back ground. It was the candle holder that actually inspired me to take this photo. I really liked its color and design and I wanted to take a photo of it. Instead of simply just taking a picture of the candle holder alone I decided to use some candles and background objects to make the picture look more interesting. To make it more powerful, I used the curves tool in Photoshop and gave it a medium contrast and then burned thee background slightly. The one thing I would change next time is just to try and take the photo in different angles and see how it turns out. But in the end, I was very satisfied with the photo.
The reason I like this picture is because of the mirror refection. In this picture, you can see both the front and back of her head. To make it more powerful I edited the picture by cropping it Photoshop then I made it black and white for added effect. I liked her hair bun so but her face was the subject so I decided to leave the hair bun but blur it slightly so it doesn't take attention away from the subject. This was from my natural environment pictures and I decided to take this because it reflect's my subject, Gurnoor's personality. And it actually does reflect it because of the mirror. The one thing that I would have changed while taking the photo was adjusting the light in the room or the light setting on the camera to see if it would have looked better.
The reason I like the picture is because of how the background is blurred out while the ornament is in focus. Christmas is my favorite holiday so I wanted to take unique holiday pictures like the one above. I blurred out the background and then cleared up the ornament. I used the dodge tool to make the ornament look like shinier and more sparkled. If there is one thing I would change it is the background. Next time, I want to make sure that there's more Christmas lights in the background. That way when I blur it on Photoshop, the lights will blend into one another.
I like this picture because it is simple but yet the bright yellow daisy captures attention. The background is blurred out and the leave is slightly blurred too. This picture reminds me of cool fall mornings. It was also taken on my favorite camera mode, macro mode. I wanted a picture that could calm me down when I look at it and that's what this picture does. To make the picture more powerful, I used the rule of thirds and put my subject at the side rather than the middle.
This is the first picture that I edited on Photoshop. It was for my gratitude pictures. If there is anything I could change, I would have changed what I placed the jewellery box on. It took several different shots to find an angle that I like. I burned the background but I can still see the chair clearly along with the shadow that the chair makes. On Photoshop, I made it black and white for added effect. To make the picture more powerful, I used the dodge tool to make some of the jewellery shinier so it stands out more.
The reason that I like these three pictures is because it shows me the difference that aperture settings can make. The aperture settings were f-3.5, f-9 and f-22. I didn't realize what kind of difference the amount of light coming in would make. The aperture setting is what makes these photos powerful because you can see the difference when looking at the three photos. I also like the objects in the background because it kind of goes with the Crayola theme. I especially like it in the first picture because it is blurred out thanks to the aperture setting. The one thing I would change is that I would add more pencil crayons and see how the aperture would affect that.
I think that this photo turned out very well even without photo shop. The lighting is what makes this a powerful photo because the back half of her face is darkened out while the front half is facing the light. It is also taken from a unique since you can only see one side of her face. It took many tries to get the photo right. We had to keep changing the subject's position and the position of the lights to get the photo just right. We told her to let a few strands of her hair loose because it looked better than it did when her hair was all completely pinned up with no loose strands. In the end, in my opinion this photo turned out very well.
