Term Three Portfolio
Term Three Reflection
In my opinion my photography skills have improved more in term three than I have in term one and term two combined. I can know work with a camera better than I was able to before and I am much better at Photoshop. My idea of photography has changed greatly from term one to term three. When I first was in photography I just thought that a good photo was something like a flower taken with good lighting. I didn't know how to use all the functions on the camera and so my pictures were really plain. I relied on Photoshop which I didn't really know how to use properly, to fix up my photos. I didn't know how to fix the lighting or the focus of the picture. Now, I can take pictures better and I do a bit of editing on Photoshop to fix them up. Another way that my idea of photography has changed is my idea of a good picture. After discussing pictures in class, I learned about different styles of photos and it inspired me to try and take pictures like that. I also learned that pictures have much deeper meanings other than what you just see. The biggest progress I have made in term three is improving my Photoshop skills even more and that's what I feel the most confident with and especially using the blending modes on layers such as soft light and overlay. The best skills I have learned in term three, is how to make a dull picture look cheerful and colorful using different layers and playing around with the hue and saturation along with the color balance and curves. I learned and practiced is a lot when I was editing my pictures for the field trip. I took those pictures on a cloud day so they looked really dull but I learned to fix that on Photoshop.
